The Theosophical Society and Its Future
Manifesto - supplement

written by Geoffrey Farthing

The writings of H.P. Blavatsky convey the ancient wisdom tradition - or Theosophy - in an erudite and internally consistent form. The teachings of the Theosophical Society, though, underwent somewhat of a transition after Blavatsky's death. This article considers the implications of that change - past, present and future - and looks at those through whom the drama of early twentieth century theosophy was played out: Annie Besant, C.W. Leadbeater, and Jiddu Krishnamurti..

The above article (referred to later as a 'Manifesto') first appeared in 'The High Country Theosophist' , in May, 1997.
